Job summary

Scoot Education in Houston, TX is seeking a Paraprofessional & Behavior Interventionist to support students with special needs in small group or 1:1 settings. You will build rapport, foster a safe learning environment, and take direction from lead educators to assist where needed.

This non-exempt role is hourly, with pay varying by certification, school, and assignment. A W-2 employment arrangement is offered, along with paid training and background check reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Passion for education and putting students first.
• Empathetic nature, growth mindset, and drive to excel.
• College credits or higher; Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree or CBEST.
• Three professional references, including at least one supervisor.
• State and federal background checks completed.

What you’ll do:

• Work closely with students with special needs in small group or 1:1 settings
• Build rapport and trust with the children in your care
• Foster a safe and nurturing learning environment
• Take direction from lead educators and assist when needed
• Some roles include assisting various mod to severe scenarios such as Toileting; Personal 1:1 Care; Non-Verbal; Challenging or Aggressive Behaviors in the Classroom

Daily Pay Range:

Pay will vary for day-to-day assignments and is typically more for long-term placements. Pay varies by certification, school, and assignment.

What We’re Looking For:

You’ll stand out if you have:

• Worked with children who have Special Education needs
• Spent time in Special Education settings
• Any Special Education specific training
• ABA experience (Applied Behavior Analysis)
• Experience working in K-12 schools
• Experience with assisting in various mod to severe scenarios such as Toileting; Personal 1:1 Care; Non-Verbal; Challenging or Aggressive Behaviors in the Classroom
