Job summary

Scoot Education is seeking a Paraprofessional & Behavior Interventionist in Houston, TX to support students with special needs in 1:1 or small-group settings. You will work closely with lead educators, build rapport, and help foster a safe learning environment.

Role involves following supervision, possibly handling diverse scenarios, and completing required background checks. Training and ongoing development opportunities are provided.

• Ability to follow lead educator directions and adapt to plans.
• Willingness to undergo state and federal background checks.

What you’ll do:

• Work closely with students with special needs in small group or 1:1 settings
• Build rapport and trust with the children in your care
• Foster a safe and nurturing learning environment
• Take direction from lead educators and assist when needed
• Some roles include assisting various mod to severe scenarios such as Toileting; Personal 1:1 Care; Non-Verbal; Challenging or Aggressive Behaviors in the Classroom

Daily Pay Range:

Pay will vary for day-to-day assignments and is typically more for long-term placements. Pay varies by certification, school, and assignment.

• Paid training hours and professional development opportunities (variable by state)

What We’re Looking For:

• Passion for education and putting students first
• An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be
• College credits, Associate’s Degree, Bachelors Degree or CBEST
• Three professional references, including at least one from a previous supervisor
• State & federal background checks

You’ll stand out if you have:

• Worked with children who have Special Education needs
• Spent time in Special Education settings
• Any Special Education specific training
• ABA experience (Applied Behavior Analysis)
• Experience working in K-12 schools
• Experience with assisting in various mod to severe scenarios such as Toileting; Personal 1:1 Care; Non-Verbal; Challenging or Aggressive Behaviors in the Classroom
