Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Thermal Analysis Engineer in Houston to develop and verify thermal control systems for NASA missions. You will create detailed thermal models, analyze spacecraft components, and collaborate across teams to ensure compliance with NASA requirements.

Ideal candidates will have a background in spacecraft thermal environments, experience with Thermal Desktop and COMSOL, and strong communication skills for engaging with NASA customers and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2–5 years of related experience.
• Experience with thermal analysis tools such as Thermal Desktop, COMSOL, ANSYS Fluent.
• Strong understanding of heat transfer principles and spacecraft thermal environments.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate across technical disciplines and verify designs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain thermal models with Thermal Desktop, SINDA/FLUINT.
• Perform steady-state and transient analyses for spacecraft components.
• Evaluate thermal performance across mission phases.
• Support thermal verification, testing, data analysis, and model correlation.
• Collaborate with design teams to optimize PTCS and ATCS architectures.
• Document results and present to NASA customers.
