Job summary

Austin Commercial is seeking a Project Engineer II in Houston, TX to help manage projects on-site. You will support safety, scheduling, submittals, RFIs, and close-out activities with a team of professionals in a leading ESOP company.

The role emphasizes coordination with owners, subcontractors, architects, and suppliers, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and timely delivery of projects in a 100% employee-owned environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. in construction management/science, engineering, or related field.
• 2 years’ work experience in the construction industry.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training completed (or within first year).
• Experience with RFIs, submittals, and punch-list processes.
• Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Notifies subcontractors and expedites materials to avoid delays.
• Participates in detailed estimating of costs and schedule changes; assists with change orders.
• Prepares submittal schedules and logs; coordinates with subcontractors, architects, and field staff.
• Assists in subcontract preparation and resolves interpretation/execution issues.
• Verifies monthly subcontractor payment requests.
• Supports locating suppliers and reviews invoices for quantity, quality, and price.
