Job summary

Austin Commercial is seeking Project Engineers to join the Houston, TX team. This entry-level role supports project engineering activities, coordinates submittals, RFIs, and logs, and assists in estimating and close-out documentation.

You will work with subcontractors, architects, and field staff to maintain schedule and ensure quality. OSHA 30-hour training is required within first year; for candidates, internship experience is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management/science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Internship experience with a construction company preferred.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training required (may be obtained within first year).

Responsibilities

• Notify subcontractors of commencement dates and expedite material deliveries to avoid delays.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and assist in submittal scheduling and logs.
• Verify monthly subcontractor payment requests and review supplier invoices for quantities and prices.
• Prepare RFIs for architects/engineers and route information to field superintendents and subcontractors.
• Assist in compiling close-out documents and may work in estimating with detailed cost estimates.
• Participate in site safety per Safety & Health Manual.
