Job summary

Austin Commercial is seeking a Project Engineer II in Houston, TX to join our leading construction team. You will support project management with scheduling, submittals, RFIs, and subcontract coordination, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities include coordinating with subcontractors, expediting material delivery, assisting in change orders, and preparing logs and close-out documents. OSHA 30-Hour and work authorization in the U.S. are required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in construction management/science, engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2 years’ work experience in the construction industry.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training required (may obtain within first year).
• Experience with RFI, submittals, and punch-list.

Responsibilities

• Notifies subcontractors of commencement dates; expedites deliveries to avoid delays.
• Participates in detailed estimating and may negotiate change orders; ensures master schedule is updated.
• Prepares submittal schedules and logs; coordinates submissions with subcontractors and architect/engineer.
• Assists in subcontract preparation and resolve interpretation/execution issues; alerts PM to unresolved problems.
• Assists in verification of monthly subcontractor payment requests.
• Responds to RFIs; routes information to the field team; clarifies technical issues.
