Austin Commercial in Austin, TX is seeking an Assistant Superintendent I to support day-to-day field construction activities and ensure project deadlines are met. The role collaborates with the superintendent and project team to drive safety, quality, and efficiency on site.

The position emphasizes detailed planning, layout coordination, and timely progress reporting, while upholding OSHA safety standards and owner requirements. This is a full-time on-site role with ESOP benefits.

Qualifications

• B.S. in construction management or related field (or 4 years of trade experience).
• Completion of OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training (within first year).

Responsibilities

• Review record documents, submittals, shop drawings, and schematics to determine scope.
• Plan the jobsite layout, start-up activities, and site security preparations.
• Lead field engineers in site survey and ensure dimensional control before foundation work.
• Prepare daily/weekly activity plans with foremen and resolve plan ambiguities with the project office.
• Oversee safety plans and procedures on the jobsite.
• Monitor weekly labor costs and adjust resources to meet budgets and schedule.
