Job summary

The Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) at UFCU helps Members achieve homeownership by guiding them through the mortgage process. Based in El Paso, the MLO will self-source, build community partnerships, and grow a sustainable book of business while supporting UFCU's expansion into Houston.

Key duties include advising Members and non-members on loan options (Conventional, FHA, VA), maintaining accurate loan documentation, and representing UFCU at local events to foster referrals and assist borrowers

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of residential mortgage loan origination.
• NMLS registration and SAFE Act compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, and portfolio loans.

Responsibilities

• Self-source mortgage production through proactive outreach and relationship-building.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with REALTORS®, builders, and community organizations.
• Represent UFCU at Houston community events, homebuyer workshops, and industry gatherings.
• Build UFCU’s mortgage presence in Houston by developing a sustainable pipeline in an emerging market.
• Maintain knowledge of mortgage trends, market conditions, and guidelines.
