Job summary

Transco Rail Services in Houston, TX is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to lead OSHA/EPA/regulatory programs across the facility. You will drive safety culture, training, audits, incident investigations, and continuous improvement with plant leadership.

You will manage waste handling, permitting, recordkeeping, and compliance reporting while guiding risk reduction and operational excellence. A strong background in manufacturing safety and certifications is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, environmental compliance, or safety management.
• 3+ years of EHS leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, environmental permitting, industrial safety programs, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Strong communication, coaching, and training abilities.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn business and compliance management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, FRA, state, local, and company requirements.
• Conduct facility audits, inspections, incident investigations, and root cause analyses while driving corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop, implement, and sustain site EHS programs, training initiatives, and safety culture improvements.
• Manage environmental compliance activities, including waste management, permitting, recordkeeping, reporting, and vendor coordination.
• Support plant leadership by identifying risks, tracking performance metrics, and implementing strategies that improve safety, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
• Lead new hire safety orientation and ongoing employee safety training programs.
• Serve as the primary point of contact during regulatory inspections, audits, and customer visits related to environmental and safety compliance.
• Partner with operational leaders to drive continuous improvement initiatives and reinforce safe work practices throughout the facility.
