Job summary

NARA Northwest in Portland, OR is seeking a Housing Specialist to provide housing placement and stabilization for individuals experiencing homelessness in Washington County. This in-person, full-time role supports participants through screening, housing plans, and coordination with partners to secure stable housing.

The position focuses on housing first approaches, collaboration with clinical services, and rent assistance programs, with a Monday–Friday day schedule and a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Degree in social-service related field or QMHA credential (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
• Experience with homelessness or mental health services.
• Experience creating service plans and documentation.
• Knowledge of housing resources and recovery-based approaches.
• Ability to work in multicultural settings and collaborate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Outreach and engage individuals referred to the program; complete screening and intake.
• Assess housing stabilization needs and develop client-led housing plans.
• Assist participants through housing processes and secure funding for move-in costs.
• Complete program paperwork to support housing stability.
• Build relationships with partners, providers, and property managers.
• Coordinate with other providers to address medical and behavioral health needs.
• Deliver home and community-based services using Motivational Interviewing and Housing First.
