Job summary

LGBT Life Center seeks a Housing Specialist to provide client-centered housing assistance and case management. You will guide eligibility determinations, explain HUD/HCV requirements, and assist clients with housing search, placement, and stability.

In this role, you’ll coordinate with landlords, track program outcomes in HMIS, and maintain accurate files while collaborating with internal teams and community partners to ensure comprehensive support for individuals and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of housing services experience.
• Experience with HUD-funded programs and HMIS preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client intakes and determine initial and ongoing eligibility for housing assistance programs.
• Provide ongoing case management and housing stabilization services through regular meetings, home visits, and follow-ups.
• Explain HUD, Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) policies and program requirements to applicants and landlords.
• Advocate with landlords to facilitate housing placements and resolve tenancy concerns.
• Coordinate services with internal teams and community partners to support holistic housing outcomes.
