Job summary

The Sanctuary on Potomac is opening a new Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) site in Aurora, CO, seeking a Peer Specialist with lived experience to build trust and support residents toward housing stability. You will work alongside case managers and program staff in a compassionate, goal-driven team.

This role emphasizes recovery, community integration, and skill development, with an anticipated Fall 2026 start.

Qualifications

• Must hold CPFS certification or be in process with training completed
• Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness preferred
• Knowledge of Medicaid-reimbursable peer services preferred
• Trauma-informed, strengths-based, housing-focused approach required

Responsibilities

• Engage residents using lived experience to provide mentorship and support
• Assist participants in building skills for independent living and housing stability
• Maintain minimum 25 billable hours per week through Medicaid-reimbursable services
• Collaborate with Aurora Mental Health and Recovery Case Manager and other staff
• Document interactions accurately in required systems and ensure HIPAA compliance
• Promote community integration and access to mainstream benefits such as SNAP and SSI
