Job summary

The Sanctuary on Potomac, a 43-unit Permanent Supportive Housing project managed by the Housing Authority of the City of Aurora, seeks a Peer Specialist. You will draw on lived experience to engage residents, support housing stability, and promote recovery within a collaborative, trauma-informed team.

Reporting with Aurora Mental Health and Recovery staff, you will provide mentorship, help residents access benefits, document services, and participate in weekly meetings.

Qualifications

• Must hold CPFS or NCPRSS credential.
• Direct lived experience with homelessness and recovery.
• Experience with supportive housing and case management.

Responsibilities

• Engage residents using lived experience to mentor and support.
• Ensure minimum 25 billable hours per week via Medicaid services.
• Collaborate with staff to align service plans with housing stability.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation.
• Assist residents in accessing benefits like SNAP/SSI.
• Attend weekly staff and required meetings.
