Job summary

The Aurora Housing Authority is hiring a Peer Specialist to support residents at Sanctuary on Potomac, a 43-unit Permanent Supportive Housing project. Qualifications

• Must hold a Colorado Peer and Family Specialist (CPFS) certification OR a National Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (NCPRSS) credential.
• Direct lived experience with homelessness, behavioral health recovery, and/or substance use recovery required.
• Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, particularly those with moderate to high-acuity needs, strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of trauma-informed care and peer support principles.

Responsibilities

• Engage residents in collaborative, trusting relationships using lived experience to provide mentorship and support.
• Support participants in developing practical skills needed to maintain housing and improve well-being.
• Ensure attendance of Medicaid‑reimbursable services and maintain required documentation.
• Collaborate with case managers to align service plans with housing stability goals.
• Provide outreach and engagement to increase participation and community integration.
