Job summary

Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is seeking a compassionate Tenant Resource Counselor to support residents in maintaining housing and achieving self-sufficiency. You will provide direct case management, connect clients to community resources, and collaborate with building management to ensure a safe, supportive housing environment.

This role emphasizes independent work within a multidisciplinary team, strong communication, and client-centered services with measurable progress toward housing

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong interpersonal skills and client-centered approach.
• Basic computer skills are preferred.
• Bilingual fluency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial interviews and assessments for new housing applicants and residents.
• Assist residents in developing individualized service plans.
• Monitor and document client progress and adjust plans with the treatment team.
• Provide support counseling, resource navigation, and life skills coaching.
• Coordinate group programming and tenant association/committee meetings.
• Conduct apartment inspections and communicate with building management.
• Maintain confidential documentation per agency and funder standards.
• Collaborate with Housing Specialists during transitions and lease renewals.
• Participate in case conferences and trainings.
