Job summary

The Bowery Residents' Committee is seeking an Independent Living Specialist to manage an assigned tenant caseload, focusing on housing stability. You will assist with applications and recertifications for entitlements, connect tenants to community resources, and provide supportive counseling during regular apartment visits.

Qualifications

• BA preferred; HS diploma/ GED required.
• Three years relevant experience in related field.
• Experience with substance abuse or mentally ill population preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned caseload of tenants to promote housing stability.
• Assist tenants with applications and recertifications for entitlements.
• Provide linkages and referrals to community resources (vocational, medical, mental health, substance abuse).
• Provide supportive counseling and regular apartment visits to ensure safety and compliance.
