Job summary

East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) in East Providence is seeking a Housing Advocate to support families toward stable housing and improved well-being. This full‑time role provides hands-on case management, outreach, and connection to housing resources.

You will conduct home visits, assess needs, coordinate services, and help participants navigate housing and related health and self-sufficiency challenges. Strong communication and a commitment to serving diverse communities are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of experience in human services or related field.
• Knowledge of community resources and service systems.
• Strong assessment, advocacy, and case management skills.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with community partners and internal teams.
• Proficiency with computer systems and data entry.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or related field (preferred).
• Experience with homelessness or housing instability (preferred).
• HMIS or similar case management databases experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Case management focused on housing stabilization and self-sufficiency.
• Conduct assessments to identify client needs and goals.
• Develop client-centered plans and coordinate services.
• Perform home visits to assess living conditions and needs.
• Connect clients with housing resources and community services.
• Maintain professional relationships with clients and set boundaries.
• Conduct outreach to connect eligible individuals to services.
• Provide education on housing-related initiatives and lead prevention efforts.
• Maintain accurate client records and complete HMIS documentation.
• Assist with monthly and grant-related reporting and ensure program compliance.
