Job summary

AID Atlanta seeks a Housing Information and Resource Specialist (HIRS) to assist clients with housing and related services. You will screen for eligibility for case management and HOPWA/HUD funded programs, and develop a resource database while maintaining provider relationships.

Responsibilities include data entry, confidential recordkeeping, and preparing monthly updates and reports for program funding. Some travel to housing sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in assessing client needs for housing or other social services.
• Experience developing and maintaining databases and spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in grant compliance, reporting and administration in a non-profit organization is preferred.
• Knowledge of housing entitlement systems and procedures.
• Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to potential housing sites, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Follow up with the client within two business days to assess eligibility for access to case management and program services.
• Initiate electronic records for unestablished clients in the agency database.
• Upload proof of eligibility in designated sections of client records.
• Input all required client information in the client chart to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Document work in the agency and funder databases according to standards.
• Refer clients who meet screening criteria to the Department of Client Services.
• Maintain client information and records in a confidential manner.
• Establish and maintain a list of potential housing resources and leads.
• Cultivate relationships with housing providers for an active roster of housing options.
• Screen clients for services on an on-call and ongoing basis.
• Generate monthly program updates and HOPWA screening reports.
