Job summary

The City of Auburn is seeking a Housing Repair Technician to perform hands-on repairs and maintenance in the Auburn community, with a focus on manufactured homes. You will evaluate properties, identify repairs, and complete safe, durable fixes that improve health and livability for residents.

This role requires carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and weatherproofing skills, along with the ability to read repair instructions and work independently in occupied homes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Three (3) years of equivalent work-related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
• Ability to read and interpret repair instructions, manufacturer specifications, work orders and basic residential code requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform residential home repairs and maintenance, especially in manufactured homes, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, roofing, doors/windows, decks, and weatherproofing.
• Inspect and evaluate homes to identify repairs, safety concerns and code issues; develop scopes of work, repair descriptions, sketches, material lists and cost estimates.
• Complete repairs to improve safety and habitability and install alarms as needed.
