Job summary

Heartland Family Service in Omaha, NE seeks a Housing Inspector Landlord Engagement Specialist to support Rapid Rehousing and Permanent Supportive Housing. You will inspect units, build landlord relations, and help participants secure housing.

Responsibilities include leasing negotiation, constant landlord communication, and maintaining compliant inspection records with HUD HQS standards. This is an on-site, full-time role with a focus on trauma-informed care.

Qualifications

• Must have a diploma or degree as specified and relevant experience or equivalent.
• Experience in property management or building inspections is expected.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Outreach to landlords and property managers to recruit participants.
• Negotiate leases and address barriers to housing for participants.
• Maintain regular contact with landlords and update eligibility data.
• Maintain landlord/property databases and identify available units daily.
• Schedule and perform initial, special, and annual inspections.
• Ensure compliance with HUD HQS and lead/habitation inspections.
