Job summary

The City of Pasadena is seeking a Housing Specialist to manage a caseload under the Housing Assistance Program, including Section 8/HCV duties. You will interview applicants, issue vouchers, and oversee rents, inspections, and HAP contracts to ensure full participant requirements are met.

Requirements include a high school diploma, HUD certifications within a year, and strong MS Office skills; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred. On-site role with generous benefits in Pasadena, TX.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; two years related experience and/or training.
• Must obtain HUD certifications in eligibility, occupancy, rent calculation, and HQS within one year.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel/Word) and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an assigned caseload for the Housing Assistance Program and HUD-funded activities.
• Interview applicants from the waiting list and issue vouchers for unit search and lease-up.
• Prepare and review rent calculations, HAP contracts, and payments to landlords monthly.
• Communicate with families, landlords, and managers to resolve unit-related issues.
