Job summary

City of Pasadena is seeking an employee to maintain an assigned caseload for the Housing Assistance Program, including initial placement, reexaminations and voucher processing. The role involves interviewing applicants, issuing vouchers, coordinating inspections, and managing HAP contracts with landlords and tenants.

Applicants must meet HUD requirements, have a high school diploma and 2+ years of related experience, and possess a Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• HUD certifications in eligibility, occupancy, rent calculation, and HQS inspection within one year of employment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an assigned caseload for the Housing Assistance Program.
• Process tenant files: eligibility, income, rent calculations, and HAP contracts.
• Interview applicants, issue vouchers, coordinate inspections and lease-up.
• Prepare monthly housing payroll and rent payments to landlords.
• Communicate with participants, landlords, and employers as needed.
• Comply with HUD requirements and maintain licenses/certifications.
• Follow City timekeeping and attendance policy.
