Job summary

Pokagon Band Of Potawatomi Indians is seeking a Housing Program Manager to lead the Housing & Community Development Office in Dowagiac, MI. The role supervises staff, ensures grant compliance, and develops office procedures to deliver housing services efficiently to Tribal Citizens.

Responsibilities include managing budgets, coordinating project files, reporting to the Director, and expanding program goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Housing/Real estate Management, Public Administration or related field; combination of four years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• Four years of experience in program administration, operations, or compliance within a human service environment.
• One year’s supervisory experience or completion of a leadership course.
• Proficiency with MS Office Applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction, coaching, and development of staff; oversee interviews, hiring, and performance appraisal.
• Manage office workflow and ensure compliance with grant requirements and procedures.
• Develop and implement department goals, policies, and operating procedures.
• Assist with program budgets and reporting to the Director.
• Coordinate space, equipment, and inventory; supervise data entry and records.
• Oversee housing repair/rehab program, inspections, and contractor coordination.
• Deliver information to citizens and pursue funding opportunities; maintain department materials.
• Ensure service quality, teamwork across departments, and safety of the work environment.
