Job summary

The Housing Authority of the County of San Bernardino (HACSB) is hiring a Portability Specialist to support the Housing Choice Voucher program. You will issue vouchers, manage HAP contracts, and recertify clients, ensuring HUD compliance and accurate file reviews.

The position trains at times in Upland and is stationed at HACSB's Housing Programs Office in San Bernardino, offering a stable, community-focused work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with college coursework in accounting, business/public administration or related field.
• Two years of clerical accounting and records management experience including double entry bookkeeping or related experience in housing/public service.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct customer support to Housing Choice Voucher Portability clients, including issuance of vouchers and HAP contract management.
• Ensure compliance with HUD requirements and HACSB procedures; review client files for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with other housing authorities to resolve portability inquiries and prepare required reports.
