Job summary

Abode Services, a leading Bay Area nonprofit, seeks a Housing Specialist for Alameda County. You will locate housing units, work with landlords, and coordinate with service providers to help homeless individuals and families secure and maintain housing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of housing, social services, or sales/customer service experience and knowledge of local housing markets.
• Must have a valid California driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and a clean DMV record.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required.

Responsibilities

• Provide housing placement and assistance focusing on household needs and goals.
• Search for and place appropriate housing units; network with landlords and providers.
• Assist with lease approvals and Housing Assistance Payment contracts.
• Coordinate move-in activities and HQIs; prepare move-in documentation.
• Maintain ongoing contact with participants and support service teams.
