Job summary

Avalon Housing in Ann Arbor, MI, is seeking an Outreach Team Lead to supervise a team of Support Coordinators serving adults in Avalon Housing units and partner properties. You will provide vision, clinical oversight, day-to-day leadership and oversee grant programs including FUSE-HUD and Rapid Re-Housing.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree (MSW preferred) and at least two years of experience with populations experiencing homelessness, mental illness, or related challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MSW or relevant Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years' experience with homelessness, mental illness, chronic health conditions, and/or addiction disorders or similar.
• Strong leadership skills to support and motivate staff in a challenging line of work.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to manage data collection and required paperwork.
• Highly positive and enthusiastic attitude and strong commitment toward helping those in need.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations in a non-judgmental way.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision, clinical oversight, and day-to-day operational leadership for the program, including direct supervision and team training.
• Oversee grant programs (FUSE-HUD, Rapid Re-Housing) and coordinate rental assistance payments, ensuring compliance with MSHDA, HUD, and fiduciary guidelines.
• Maintain partnerships with private landlords throughout Washtenaw County with prompt communication and outreach.
• Supervise staff/intern provision of outreach, assessments, action plans, and case management.
• Participate in on-call rotation and occasional evenings/weekends.
• Assist tenants with activities of daily living as needed.
