Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago is seeking a Director of Housing Operations to lead daily housing portfolio operations, drive compliance, and deliver resident-centered services across Cook and Lake counties. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in arts/sciences and 3–5 years relevant experience.
• Master's degree preferred; 5+ years experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Knowledge of compliance and reporting requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations for an assigned affordable housing portfolio, ensuring occupancy, resident satisfaction, financial performance, property condition, service delivery, and program compliance; monitor metrics; prepare for inspections/audits; coordinate with facilities, procurement, and property management on maintenance and capital needs.
• Analyze operational, financial, and resident experience data to identify trends, mitigate risks, and improve occupancy and resident retention; support strategic initiatives and annual planning.
• Represent Housing Communities Operations with residents, community organizations, service providers, vendors, contractors, and external stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and community engagement.
• Collaborate with fellow and other directors to align standards, policies, and performance expectations; coordinate with housing operations and resident services to address barriers to stability and quality of life.
• Lead and develop the Housing Operations team; set goals, monitor performance, provide feedback, and foster a positive, purpose-driven culture.
• Develop staff capability through ongoing training, mentorship, and professional development; promote continuous learning and improvement.
• Essential functions include all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
