Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago is seeking a Director of Safety & Security to oversee all safety, security, emergency preparedness, and life-safety compliance across ~40 locations in Cook and Lake counties.

The role partners with housing operations, resident services, and local law enforcement to create trauma-informed, welcoming environments while managing access controls, surveillance, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Security Management or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years multi-site experience.
• MBA or Master's preferred.
• Experience in nonprofit management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee security operations across all housing locations.
• Develop and implement security protocols.
• Manage access control and surveillance systems.
• Partner with Property Management, Housing Operations, and Resident Services teams.
• Review and investigate security incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Serve as primary contact during emergencies and after-hours escalations.
• Foster relationships with local law enforcement and responders.
