Job summary

HELP USA in New York, NY seeks a Criminal Justice Coordinator to provide individualized case management and housing placement for homeless single adults in transitional shelters.

You will report to the Director of Social Services, manage a caseload, coordinate housing options, assist with budgeting and independent living planning, and connect clients to entitlements and community services. A valid US driver’s license is required; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in relevant community work or community-centered activities, with experience providing housing counseling and placement services for similar client populations preferred.
• Valid US Driver’s License required.
• Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft applications, required.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized case management and housing placement assistance for homeless single adults in transitional shelters.
• Secure permanent housing that meets law enforcement requirements for your caseload.
• Assist clients with budgeting and planning for independent living.
• Identify service delivery gaps and obtain community linkages for housing and employment.
• Ensure clients are in compliance with registration requirements.
• Advocate for clients and navigate the service delivery system to access entitlement services.
