Job summary

Eliot is seeking a part-time Housing First Coordinator for our Low Threshold Housing Team. You will provide onsite case management and support within a collaborative housing environment, helping residents access resources, navigate housing, and pursue recovery and wellness goals.

Ideal candidates demonstrate compassion, understanding of housing first principles, and experience with substance use recovery. Work hours include evenings and weekends, with compensation in the $33,600–$35,000 range

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field required. For candidates with lived experience with substance use disorder who have 2 years sustained sobriety.
• High school diploma/GED and at least one year of paid or volunteer experience working with adults with mental illness and/or substance abuse.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical help and mentoring/modeling, advocacy, coordination, side-by-side individualized support, problem solving and direct assistance to help clients obtain skills needed for daily independent living.
• Promote concepts of health and wellness by assisting clients with accessing information and services related to medical care including HIV care resources, nutrition, and exercise as appropriate.
• Work within the multidisciplinary team to guide residents through legal concerns.
• Intervene in potential crisis situations, utilizing trauma informed, verbal de-escalation techniques – elevate concerns to leadership/on call personnel in real time as applicable.
• Educate and support clients around harm reduction principles and utilization, including access to safe injection supply kits when requested.
• Engage in client-centered/harm-reduction/Housing First framework.
• Develop and implement safety response plan as needed

Eliot’s Homeless Services Division is seeking a dedicated part-time Housing First Coordinator to join our Low Threshold Housing Team which provides an array of onsite supportive services, including recovery coaching, MAT/Psychiatry, wrap-around case management & clinical coordination, medical consultation and direct interventions, and access to trauma-focused treatment modalities.

In this role you will provide onsite case management & support in a highly collaborative fashion with residents. Successful candidates will have unwavering compassion, as well as an open mind in terms of pathways to recovery/harm reduction with respect to substance use disorders. Working knowledge of area resources/providers, housing navigation, and tenancy preservation are a plus. Candidates with lived experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Schedule:

Sunday 7am-3pm, Monday 5pm-9pm, Thursday 5pm-9pm, Friday 3pm-9pm and Saturday 3pm-9pm (28 hours)

Compensation:

• BA $33,600.00
• MA $35,000.00

Annual Salary: $33,600 USD - $35,000 USD
