NYU Langone Health in New York, NY seeks a Financial Analyst to support all aspects of Real Estate Housing financial operations, including billing, accounts receivable, and security deposit administration.

The role collaborates with Housing and other departments, prepares statements and journals, analyzes housing revenue and vacancy trends for senior management, and maintains vendor relationships and reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in business, accounting, finance, or related field.
• Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Possess strong customer service and problem solving skill sets.
• Attention to detail and ability to work with little supervision.
• Must have strong customer service and communication skills.
• Must be organized and understand confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
• Strong accounts receivable and basic accounting skills (e.g., journal entries, working with G/L).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and run the monthly tenant billing.
• Coordinate with the Bursar to post student charges semi-annually.
• Properly track and record payments (of various types) per the lease agreement term.
• Work closely with Housing team and other departments.
• Directly handle inquiries from residential tenants regarding their accounts.
• Reconcile tenant security deposit accounts and prepare bank forms for deposits and refunds.
• Coordinate with Payroll to maintain all payroll deduction amounts.
• Run tenant arrears report to ensure timely payments.
• Prepare and analyze tenant statements.
• Prepare journal entries as needed.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual Housing Revenue and Vacancy analysis for Senior Management.
• Engage with 3rd party utility payment processor Engie and Utility Companies (ConEd, PSEG, National Grid) to maintain all NYU residential utility accounts.
• Review and approve invoices in Unifier for operations vendors.
• Ad-hoc StarRez reports as needed (bulk credits, specific building analyses)
• Create and maintain process manuals for all tasks of this position.
