Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Financial Analyst to support Real Estate Housing financial operations, including billing, accounts receivable, and security deposit administration. The role collaborates with the Housing team and various departments to manage tenant accounts and generate routine analyses.

The successful candidate will handle journal entries, vendor invoices in Unifier, and coordinate with payroll and utilities to ensure accurate financial processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1 year of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination.
• Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong customer service and problem solving skills.
• Attention to detail with minimal supervision.
• Confidential handling of financial information.
• Strong accounts receivable and basic accounting skills (journal entries, GL).
• Familiarity with StarRez and Unifier is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and run the monthly tenant billing.
• Post student charges semi-annually with the Bursar.
• Track and record payments per lease.
• Collaborate with Housing team.
• Handle inquiries from residential tenants about their accounts.
• Reconcile tenant security deposit accounts and prepare bank forms for deposits/refunds.
• Coordinate payroll deductions.
• Run tenant arrears report for timely payments.
• Prepare and analyze tenant statements.
• Prepare journal entries as needed.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual Housing Revenue and Vacancy analyses for Senior Management.
• Engage with Engie and utility companies to maintain NYU residential utility accounts.
• Review and approve invoices in Unifier for operations vendors.
• Reconcile vendor accounts monthly.
• Ad-hoc StarRez reports (bulk credits, building analyses).
• Create and maintain process manuals for all tasks.
