Qualifications

BA or BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business.
4 years financial experience in construction industry.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Financial analysis and reporting skills.
Organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Accounts payable and overall accounting skills (i.e., journal entries, working with G/L, budgeting).
Advanced MS Excel skills; proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Demonstrated drive and initiative to complete tasks.
Solid understanding of project financial statements and ability to create concise reports.
Understanding of project accounting, construction procurement, accounts payable, and insurance.

Responsibilities

Financial tracking, monitoring and reporting of capital projects.
Budget monitoring and reporting for project portfolio.
Review, analyze and process applications for payment.
Ensure compliance of financial documents with NYU policies and industry standards.
Perform accounting and accounts payable functions for the portfolio.
Liaise with internal staff, vendors and external organizations.
Understand components of a development project (construction and consultant costs).
Prepare ad hoc reports and maintain files.
Assist in project close-out.
Prepare cash flows and forecasting; follow up on audits and monthly reporting.
Guide Project Managers on requisitions and vendor invoices.
Coordinate monthly calendar of due dates for pencil requisitions, reviews, and invoices.
Review vendor accounts receivable and reconcile; liaise to AP; manage contract administration.
Prepare allocation entries across projects and analyze journal entries as needed.
Prepare budget modifications and variance analyses.
