Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Related Field Required.
• 5+ years of experience in Construction, Real Estate, Architectural, Facilities or Health Services organization preferred with strong understanding of construction accounting.
• Demonstrate customer service and communication skills.
• Must be able to develop and maintain positive, cooperative, team-oriented relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers, clients and others as required for the job.
• Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail as well as the ability to work well under pressure.
• Demonstrate accounts payable and overall basic accounting skills (i.e., journal entries, working with G/L, budgeting).

Responsibilities

• Financial tracking, monitoring and reporting of capital projects
• Budget monitoring and reporting for project portfolio
• Review, analyze and process applications for payment
• Review all financial documents related to project portfolio and ensure compliance with institutional and industry standards, guidelines, policies and procedures
• Perform all related accounting and accounts payable functions related to the project portfolio
• Liaison with internal Project Management Staff, vendors and external organizations related to project portfolio
• Collaborate with PMs to ensure timely processing of contracts, purchase requisitions, invoice payments, IOIs and journal entries
• Ensure REDF Financial Systems are updated and reconciled against organizational financial systems for projects under responsibility
• Maintain accurate, well documented project records and meeting notes
• Prepare ad hoc reports and assist in project close-out
• Prepare cash flows and forecasting; follow up monthly on audits and responses
• Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports from systems downloads
• Guide Project Managers on proper procedures for reviewing requisitions/invoices
• Set up monthly calendar of due dates for Pencil Requis, etc.
• Review Vendor Accounts Receivable reports and reconcile; act as liaison to AP
• Manage contract administration process; ensure requisitions/purchases are compliant with NYU policies
• Preparing allocation entries across projects; prepare journal entries
• Analyze and prepare journal entries when needed
• Prepare budget modifications and understand Anticipated Cost Reports
• Work with PMs to produce final product including variances and back-up
• Review CM Requisitions for base contract values, change orders, lien waivers, etc.
• Co-lead pencil copy requisitions reviews with Construction PMs
