Job summary

Real Estate Equities is seeking a Compliance Specialist in Saint Paul, MN to manage applicant resident files and ensure funding compliance. You will support local housing rules, assist with lease-ups, and train site staff while collaborating with the compliance team.

The role requires at least 3 years of affordable housing compliance and strong communication, organizational, and planning skills, with travel up to 50% to REE sites in the Metro and Rochester areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of affordable housing compliance experience.
• Fair Housing Laws knowledge and application.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral.
• Strong organization and planning skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Track all annual recertifications to ensure each file is completed at least 30-days prior to the effective date.
• Audit move in and annual recertification packets to ensure each file qualifies under all funding regulations.
• Review compliance information in Yardi/Rent Café and generate tenant income certification for signature.
• Verify signatures for move-ins and annual recertifications.
• Audit digital resident files to ensure readiness for 3rd party audit.
• Develop and maintain relationships with compliance team and property management.
• Prepare compliance reports for the Director of Compliance.
• Assist with lease-up activities and training of staff.
• Direct correspondence with 3rd party compliance processors.
• Assist with owner reporting requirements and travel as needed to properties.
