Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking an HDRS Specialist to ensure welcoming, safe shelters and drop-in centers. The role involves written documentation, data reporting, and using de-escalation in crisis responses.

Relationships are central to engagement, with street outreach and low barrier shelters bridging to stable housing. Responsibilities include housing placement coordination, individualized recovery support, comprehensive case management, and meticulous documentation.

Qualifications

• Master's in Human Services and 1 year of residential/crisis services experience OR Bachelor's in Human Services and 3 years of homeless/behavioral health/residential/crisis services
• Act 33/34/73 clearances
• Pre-Employment Drug Screen

Responsibilities

• Housing Placement: Facilitate finding housing options, coordinate with landlords, property managers, and housing authorities
• Recovery Support: Provide individualized support addressing substance abuse, mental health, trauma and other challenges
• Case Management: Conduct assessments, develop personalized housing and recovery plans, monitor progress and refer to services
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain records of client interactions, services and outcomes; prepare reports for funders and policies
