Job summary

Abode Services, a leading nonprofit, is seeking a Housing Specialist in San Mateo County. You will locate housing units, work with landlords, and provide support to ensure clients secure and maintain housing.

The role involves lease coordination, move-in support, and collaboration with the case team to address barriers and progress. Ideal candidates will have a HS diploma, 1 year in housing or related fields, and a valid CA driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• 1 year of experience in housing, social services, or related field.
• Valid California driver's license with clean DMV record.
• Flexible schedule including evenings/weekends when required.

Responsibilities

• Provide housing placement and assistance for participants based on needs and goals.
• Search and place suitable housing units; network with landlords.
• Assist with lease approvals and housing payment contracts.
• Prepare move-in documentation and coordinate HQI inspections.
• Maintain contact with participants and monitor housing progress.
• Ensure compliance with fair housing laws and regulatory agreements.
