Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory seeks an Outreach & Engagement Specialist 1 (OES1) to assist homeless individuals living in vehicles in King County. This full-time, in-person role focuses on housing attainment, barrier removal, and referrals to community resources.

The position requires visiting clients in the field, coordinating with apartment managers, and delivering both formal and informal referrals. Strong HMIS/WellSky experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in social work or similar or 2+ years of relevant experience required.
• 2 years of demonstrated experience in related social services.
• Experience with Coordinated Entry for All (CEA), Rapid Re-Housing (RRH), and partner human services preferred.
• Experience involving human relations, trauma-informed care, community building, motivational interviewing, networking, and resourcing building.
• Experience with HMIS entries, exits, and reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Outreach responsibilities: Regularly seek out clients living in their vehicles in the territory served; Maintain contact with clients during housing assessment and readiness plan; Provide intensive housing assistance including resource referral and advocacy between client and apartment managers; Provide formal and informal referral services to community resources.
• Case management responsibilities: Provide expert case management for clients with varying impairments; coordinate services with agencies providing mental health, employment security, substance abuse, vocational rehab, and disabilities.
• Administrative responsibilities: Participate in staff meetings and trainings; Maintain client case records on Wellsky and HMIS; Track, analyze, and input data for county, donor, and internal stakeholders; Perform other admin/operational functions.
