Responsibilities

• Set up and arrange tables, chairs, staging, dance floors and equipment as per diagrams.
• Prepare banquet rooms for weddings, meetings, conferences, banquets, and functions.
• Tear down setups and return items to storage after events.
• Assist with room flips and quick turnarounds between events.
• Transport tables, chairs, linens, supplies, and equipment around the facility.
• Support banquet servers, bartenders, staff, and management as needed.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented On-Call Banquet Houseman to support the setup, teardown, and overall operation of banquet events. This position plays an important role in ensuring event spaces are clean, organized, safe, and ready for guests.

The ideal candidate is flexible, comfortable with physical labor, and able to work a variable schedule based on event needs. Responsibilities include setting up tables and chairs, arranging event spaces, cleaning banquet areas, moving equipment, and assisting the banquet team with general event-related tasks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Event Setup & Teardown

• Set up and arrange tables, chairs, staging, dance floors, and other event equipment according to event diagrams and specifications.
• Prepare banquet rooms and event spaces for weddings, meetings, conferences, banquets, and other functions.
• Tear down event setups and return furniture, equipment, and supplies to their designated storage areas.
• Assist with room flips and quick turnarounds between events as needed.
• Ensure all event spaces are properly arranged and ready before guests arrive.

Event Center Cleaning & Maintenance

• Clean and maintain banquet rooms, meeting spaces, hallways, and other event areas before, during, and after events.
• Remove trash, sweep, vacuum, mop, and spot-clean floors as needed.
• Clean and organize equipment and storage areas.
• Restock supplies and ensure event spaces remain neat and presentable.
• Report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, spills, or safety hazards to the appropriate supervisor.

General Banquet & Event Support

• Assist banquet servers, bartenders, event staff, and management with general labor and event-related needs.
• Transport tables, chairs, linens, supplies, and equipment throughout the facility.
• Respond promptly to requests from the banquet team during events.
• Follow event setup instructions, safety procedures, and facility standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support successful event operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible, on-call hours.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on event schedules.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull furniture and equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods and performing repetitive physical tasks.

• Previous experience in banquets, hospitality, housekeeping, custodial services, or event setup is preferred but not required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position involves working in a fast-paced event environment with changing priorities and deadlines. Duties may require frequent standing, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling. The employee may work around moving equipment, crowded event spaces, and varying noise levels.

Schedule & Availability

This is an on-call position, with shifts scheduled according to banquet and event needs. Hours are not guaranteed and may vary depending on the facility's event calendar. Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is important.
