InterContinental The Clement Monterey is seeking a hands-on Housekeeping Supervisor / Team Leader to uphold exceptional guest standards at 750 Cannery Row, Monterey. This full-time role offers a starting wage of $26.50 per hour and requires leadership, training, and strong organizational skills to motivate a housekeeping team.

Responsibilities include inspecting guestrooms, coordinating room readiness, coaching staff, and ensuring safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• At least 1 year housekeeping supervisory experience or 2 years in related hospitality roles.
• Guestroom inspection and hotel QA experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to train and develop associates while fostering teamwork.
• English proficiency; Spanish preferred.

• Inspect 50–75 guestrooms daily for cleanliness and standards compliance.
• Monitor cleanliness of guestrooms, public areas, and workspaces.
• Coordinate daily room assignments and monitor readiness.
• Train, coach and support housekeeping staff to maintain quality and productivity.
• Communicate room status with Front Desk, Engineering and Housekeeping Management.
• Identify deficiencies and provide constructive feedback with timely follow-up.
• Respond to guest requests professionally to ensure satisfaction.
• Monitor supplies, equipment and inventory; assist with VIP rooms and special projects.
• Reinforce safety procedures and operating standards.
• Provide hands-on assistance with housekeeping duties as needed.

InterContinental The Clement Monterey is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic Housekeeping Supervisor / Team Leader who takes pride in maintaining exceptional standards and inspiring others to do the same.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a passion for hospitality, strong organizational skills, and the ability to create a positive, productive work environment while ensuring an outstanding guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect approximately 50–75 guestrooms daily, depending on business demands, to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and compliance with hotel and IHG brand standards.
• Monitor the cleanliness and overall condition of guestrooms, public areas, and assigned workspaces.
• Coordinate daily room assignments, prioritize guest arrivals, and monitor room readiness.
• Train, coach, and support Housekeeping associates to maintain quality, productivity, and departmental expectations.
• Communicate room status, maintenance concerns, and guest requests with the Front Desk, Engineering, and Housekeeping Management.
• Identify and address deficiencies, provide constructive feedback, and ensure timely follow-up.
• Respond professionally to guest requests and concerns to ensure satisfaction.
• Monitor housekeeping supplies, equipment, and inventory to maintain organization and operational efficiency.
• Assist with VIP room preparations, deep-cleaning projects, and special assignments.
• Reinforce safety procedures, departmental policies, and established operating standards.
• Provide hands‑on assistance with housekeeping duties as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
• Minimum of one year of housekeeping supervisory experience or two years of Room Attendant, Laundry, or equivalent hospitality experience.
• Guestroom inspection and hotel quality assurance experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to motivate, train, and develop associates while fostering teamwork.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to changing business demands.
• Professional communication skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements

This position requires extended periods of standing and walking, frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and kneeling, as well as pushing, pulling, lifting, and moving housekeeping equipment and supplies, with or without reasonable accommodation.
