Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor for their Fairfield Inn & Suites Homestead location in Florida City. The role oversees housekeeping functions, ensures standards, and steps in for the Housekeeping Manager when needed.

The position involves training staff, managing daily assignments, and maintaining guest room readiness. The ideal candidate will have at least 2–3 years of hotel experience and prior supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• College course work in related field helpful.
• At least two to three years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect Room Attendant’s work performance within assigned section on a daily basis to ensure standards and productivity levels are met.
• In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager or Assistant, inspect VIP rooms and report availability to Front Office.
• Oversee closing of floors at end of day; ensure carts are clean and restocked.
• Ensure records of daily assignments are completed and filed with Housekeeping Office on time.
• Maintain key control and secure property.
• Handle Lost and Found items according to standards.
• Monitor cleanliness and orderliness of carts, linen closets, and stairways.
• Oversee daily assignment of duties; ensure staff carry a work assignment.
• Carry active pager/radio to stay in contact with Front Office/Engineering.
• Report progress of out-of-order rooms to Guest Services Manager per standards.
• Initiate work orders for repairs and follow through to completion.
• Assist with training of Housekeeping staff.
• May be required to clean rooms as needed.
• Ensure completion of cleaning projects biannually.
