Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees and coordinates housekeeping operations in assigned sections and assumes all managerial duties in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager.

Responsibilities

1. Inspect Room Attendants' work daily to ensure standards and productivity are met.
2. In the absence of the Manager, inspect VIP rooms and report their status to the Front Office.
3. Oversee closing procedures, ensuring carts are clean and stocked.
4. Complete and submit daily assignment records timely.
5. Maintain key control and handle Lost and Found items according to standards.
6. Monitor cleanliness of carts, linen closets, and common areas.
7. Assign daily duties to staff and ensure proper coverage.
8. Maintain communication with the Front Office and Engineering via pager/radio.
9. Report on out-of-order rooms and initiate repair work orders.
10. Assist in training housekeeping staff and may perform cleaning tasks when needed.
11. Ensure cleaning projects are completed biannually and guest satisfaction is maintained.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; college coursework helpful.
• 2-3 years of progressive hotel or related experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to stand throughout the shift.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, friendly and courteous demeanor.
