Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees housekeeping functions in assigned sections and steps in for the Housekeeping Manager as needed.

Responsibilities

1. Inspect Room Attendant's work daily to ensure standards and productivity.
2. In the absence of the Manager, inspect VIP rooms and report their status to the Front Office.
3. Oversee floor closing procedures, ensuring carts are clean and stocked.
4. Ensure timely completion and submission of daily assignment records.
5. Maintain key control and handle Lost and Found items per standards.
6. Monitor cleanliness of carts, linen closets, and common areas.
7. Assign duties daily to staff.
8. Maintain communication with the Front Office and Engineering via pager/radio.
9. Report progress on out-of-order rooms to Guest Services.
10. Initiate and follow up on work orders for repairs.
11. Assist in staff training and may perform cleaning duties as needed.
12. Ensure biannual cleaning projects are completed.
13. Strive to ensure guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; college coursework helpful.
• 2-3 years of progressive hotel experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to stand throughout the shift.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in a courteous manner.
