Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor manages housekeeping functions in assigned sections and assumes all Housekeeping Manager duties in their absence.

Responsibilities

1. Inspect Room Attendant’s work daily to ensure standards and productivity.
2. In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager, inspect VIP rooms and report their status.
3. Oversee the closing of floors, ensuring carts are clean and stocked.
4. Complete and submit daily assignment records on time.
5. Maintain key control and handle Lost and Found items per standards.
6. Monitor cleanliness of carts, linen closets, and common areas.
7. Assign duties daily to staff.
8. Carry a pager/radio for communication during shifts.
9. Report progress on out-of-order rooms to the Guest Services Manager.
10. Initiate and follow up on repair work orders.
11. Assist in training staff.
12. May clean rooms as needed.
13. Ensure biannual cleaning projects are completed.
14. Ensure overall guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

1. High School diploma or equivalent; college coursework helpful.
2. 2-3 years of experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
3. Supervisory experience preferred.
4. Ability to stand for entire shift.
5. Effective verbal and written communication skills with staff and guests.
