Job summary

Fisher Island Club is seeking a housekeeping supervisor to oversee cleaning and maintenance of guest units, public areas, and operation areas. You will conduct daily inspections of maid and staff work, implement training, and assist in planning policies to ensure an effective housekeeping service.

The role requires an HS Diploma and 1 year of supervisory housekeeping experience, with strong English skills and the ability to work evenings and under pressure.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma is required.
• 1 year housekeeping supervisory position experience required.
• Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English.
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and hotel/resort practices.
• Knowledge of chemicals and equipment used in the department.
• Capable of working under pressure.
• Ability to make decisions, exercise common sense, and use authority effectively.
• Familiarity with basic operational procedures of floor equipment, microwave ovens, vacuums, and washer machines.
• Must be flexible in hours and days worked (evening shifts).
• Familiarity with radio communications.

• Conducts daily inspections of work performed by the maids, housemen, and turndown attendants.
• Implements training procedures.
• Compiles data to be used on scheduling housekeeping special projects (e.g., carpet shampooing, drapery cleaning).
• Assists in planning policies, standards, and objectives that will provide the institution with an effective housekeeping service.
• Ensures necessary maintenance is reported and completed by engineers in a timely fashion.
• Assists in the completion of inventories.
• Performs turndown service.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
