Job summary

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Alexandria Old Town/Southwest is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead housekeeping staff, ensure brand standards, and uphold HHM sustainability initiatives. You will train, schedule, coach associates, manage rooms cleaning to standards, coordinate with vendors as needed, and promote guest satisfaction.

This role requires prior housekeeping or supervisory experience and offers varied shifts and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience or equivalent training required.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train, schedule, coach and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and HHM core values.
• Screen job applicants, and hire new employees when necessary.
• Train staff to clean rooms efficiently according to established standards or coordinate with external vendors for training.
• Communicate guest service scores to drive improvements and higher guest satisfaction.
• Issue cleaning supplies and equipment to associates.
• On occasion, clean rooms or assist staff with cleaning rooms.
• Address associate performance and behavior concerns through direct intervention or via vendors.
• Supervise laundry employees, if applicable.
• Prepare work schedules and coordinate with vendors for occupancy-based staffing.
• Follow sustainability guidelines related to HHM’s EarthView program.
• Practice safe work habits and wear PPE per MSDS and OSHA standards.
• Assist in the breakfast area as needed.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Your Focus

• Train, schedule, coach and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with HHM core values.
