Job summary

Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites San Mateo-San Francisco SFO is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead and train a housekeeping team while upholding Brand and HHM standards. You will schedule, coach, and support associates, monitor guest service scores, and ensure efficient room cleaning and safety practices.

The role may involve assisting in the breakfast area, coordinating with vendors, and managing staffing based on occupancy.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience or equivalent training required.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train, schedule, coach and support associates, ensuring they perform to brand/hotel standards and HHM values.
• Screen job applicants and hire new employees where applicable.
• Train staff to clean rooms to established standards or coordinate with vendors for training.
• Monitor guest service scores and drive improvements for higher satisfaction.
• Distribute cleaning supplies and equipment to staff.
• Occasionally assist with cleaning rooms as needed.
• Address performance concerns directly or via vendors.
• Oversee laundry staff if applicable.
• Prepare work schedules and coordinate staffing with occupancy forecasts.
• Follow EarthView sustainability guidelines and safety procedures (MSDS/OSHA).
• Assist in breakfast area as needed and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Your Focus

• Train, schedule, coach and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with HHM core values.
• Screen job applicants, and hire new employees (in the event housekeeping associates are HHM employees.)
• Train staff to clean rooms in an efficient manner according to established standards or partner with external vendors to ensure staff is trained properly.
• Be aware of and communicate guest service scores to drive improvement and higher guest satisfaction.
• Issue cleaning supplies and equipment to associates.
• On occasion, clean rooms or assist staff with cleaning rooms.
• Address associate performance and behavior concerns by either direct intervention with HHM associates or through vendors.
• Supervise laundry employees, if applicable.
• Prepare work schedules for HHM associates or provide vendors with anticipated occupancy to ensure proper staffing levels.
• Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
• Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
