Job summary

Grand Hyatt Nashville is seeking a Housekeeping Houseperson to help maintain a clean and orderly hotel environment. You will clean rooms and public areas, move furniture, dust, vacuum, and replenish supplies to ensure a pleasant guest experience.

A background check is required prior to employment, and the rate is $19.50 per hour. The role emphasizes safety, attention to detail, and teamwork with room attendants and other hotel staff.

Responsibilities

• Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairs, and other areas.
• Move and dust/polish furniture, metalwork, and equipment.
• Sweep, mop, wax floors and scrub surfaces with appropriate equipment.
• Vacuum rugs, carpets, draperies and upholstery.
• Collect soiled linens and restock supplies in linen closet.
• Replace supplies in bathrooms and restock towels.

Job description

The Housekeeping Houseperson will perform a combination of tasks which maintain hotel premises in a clean and orderly manner, thereby contributing to a pleasant, positive guest experience.

HOW YOU’LL SHAPE THE EXPERIENCE & FUTURE

• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
• Abides by the regulations set forth by the material safety data sheets when using chemicals.
• Moves/arranges furniture and dusts/polishes furniture, metalwork and equipment.
• Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors, using brooms and mops and powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaner.
• Collects soiled linens for laundering and receives and stores linen supplies in linen closet.
• Cleans bathrooms and replenishes with supplies.
• Refurnishes room with supplies, towels etc. as required. Supplies cleaning cart with appropriate supplies for shift.
• Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork; washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets and empties and cleans ashtrays. Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist Room Attendant with task as needed.
• Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
