Job summary

The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, VA is seeking a Housekeeping Houseman to support guest rooms and public areas. You will deliver linens, amenities, and supplies, and perform routine cleaning on hallways, rooms, storage areas, service spaces.

The role requires physical stamina, good teamwork, and a courteous, guest-focused attitude as you respond to guest requests and assist with cleaning projects and daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver linens, amenities, and housekeeping supplies to assigned floors and guest rooms.
• Perform routine cleaning of guest hallways and furniture, storage closets, service areas stairwells, and elevators.
• Preform periodic cleaning of the chandeliers.
• Assist with stocking housekeeping supplies and organizing storage areas on designated delivery days.
• Respond promptly to guest requests for additional items or support, ensuring follow-through.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in assigned public and back-of-house areas.
• Report any maintenance issues, lost and found items, or safety concerns to the appropriate departments.
• Support special cleaning projects or emergency cleaning needs assigned by supervisors.
• Learn how to make beds, roll-aways, and sofa beds.

Key Requirements

• Availability: Must be available to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays. Must be flexible to work between: 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM, with daily schedules subject to change.
• Physical Ability: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50+ lbs., stand and walk for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Teamwork: Must be collaborative and willing to support multiple areas within the hotel.
• Guest Service: Must have a courteous and professional attitude when interacting with guests and team members.
