Job summary

St. Michael’s Hospital Avera seeks anHospital Environmental Services Worker to maintain clean patient rooms, offices, hallways and common areas.

You will assist with stocking supplies, linen handling, bed-making after patient discharge, and support for hospital operations while upholding confidentiality and patient care standards. The role requires adherence to safety and regulatory standards and teamwork within a busy hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–3 months related experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean environment in patient rooms, nurse stations, lobby and other areas.
• Keep areas stocked with supplies (paper towels, toilet paper, etc.).
• Sort, wash, and deliver linens; remake beds after patient dismissal.
• Support department goals and uphold CARE values in daily work.

We look forward to hearing from you!Position HighlightsResponsible for maintaining a clean work environment in assigned areas which may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, clinic, laboratory, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas. Supports the hospital's goal of excellence in patient care by facilitating positive employee relations and supporting department goals. Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards.What you will doMaintains a clean/neat environment in working area. These areas may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.Participates in all cleaning activities as assigned. These may include, but not be limited to: dusting, washing, waxing, drying, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, moving furniture, and emptying trash.Keeps assigned area fully stocked with supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, etc.Responsible for maintaining stock on individual cleaning carts including wet and dry supplies.May sort, wash, and accurately deliver linens.Washes beds and mattresses, and remakes beds after dismissal of patients.Maintain good customer relations at all times.Able to maintain confidentiality when dealing with data related to patients, physicians, co-workers and any other hospital information.Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified.
